  1. You raise a great point, Chris. If our audiences cannot follow us, it defeats the whole purpose of our speaking! I think that your idea of enunciating more is excellent. It really helps a speaker focus on the words and, more importantly, the message.

    I am also a big fan of pauses. Too many speakers spend too little time pausing and yet, in many respects, the best speeches place “between the words”. During the pauses, the significance of what we have heard sinks in; during the pauses, the speech takes on special meaning for us.
